It is fairly typical that Trump corrupts anyone who associates with him. In Mnuchin’s case, he probably came into office pre-corrupted, so parroting the theme of the week — doing away with the investigation — comes pretty naturally to him.

Mr Mnuchin, Collusion with a foreign power to throw an election, obstruction of justice by firing the head of the FBI and then admitting that firing was because of the Russia probe and money laundering are all very good reasons to investigate trump. They are potential crimes and not distractions. And I haven’t even gotten to his continual and serial lying every damned day. Then I could start talking about his abusive acts toward women that he not only admits to cheerfully but brags about on tape.

The attempt or conspiracy to commit a crime can itself be a separate crime. I’m sure Jay Sekulow can hold a briefing session to explain that to the administration.
