He doesn’t care. He’s one of these people that thinks he’s always right. He exhibited that in law school, where one of his profs named him Fruit Salad, because his ideas were a mix of stuff. He demonstrated this same certainty when he commissioned and placed that Ten Commandments monument on state land without permission, and lost his judgeship over it. He doubled down by ordering clerks to refuse to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples after the SCOTUS ruling.
This is a guy that BELIEVES he’s right. He’s been coddled, pampered, spoiled and encouraged most of his life, so naturally he thinks he’s all that.

Paraphrasing what he said, if 2018’s expectations stay the same, then yeah its on in '19. As for me, I’m thinking that he would have to make a post election decision (in '18) and were that decision be to stay, he would dare Speaker Pelosi to throw him out.
Of course ,Pelosi is rather clear about impeachments…
