Discussion: Trump's Latest Obamacare Attack Triggers Rate Hikes, Lawsuits, Confusion

He believes he is Teflon Man because, up until now, he was too unimportant (“Mr Page 6”) to really get stuck with the messes he made and he could bluster his way out of stuff .

That’s gonna change soon. On many levels.

Do the insurance companies have insurance to protect them in case an executive branch falls on them?

FMOTUS is a fathead. He ‘believes’ he is smarter than everyone else and is enabled by those as stupid and craven as he is. He is out there on the offensive INSISTING this is the Democrats fault but anyone with half a brain knows…it’s him.

Welcome to TrumpCare where you pay more for less assuming you can get anything at all.

The Democrats’ message to the country must be that this is being done to you by all Republicans, not just Trump. The Republicans in Congress and at the state level supported him in the campaign, he’s the leader of the Republican party, they have been voting to repeal Obamacare for 7 years, and this is the result.

Could TPM please start using close to the proper name of Obamacare when they use the “proper” name?

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act

People forget the act is about more than just affordable care, the patient protections are at least as important.

That’s because us elites are a lot smarter than those who voted for the Moronic Drunk Uncle. We actually know what we’re talking about and we know the difference between “there,” “their,” and “they’re.” .

And that’s about as elitist as it gets.

I too believe the timing is purely intentional. Coincidences happen, but Donnie Two-Scoops’ actions with respect to the ACA have been malicious all along. This isn’t a coincidence.

Thank you for posting that link.

Also know the difference between “it’s” and “its” and how to correctly spell “moron.”

But, according to the Republicans, we’ve all been getting too much for too long! Time to tighten our belts and let freedom ring! /s

Trump seems to be taking the advice of chaos specialists like Mulvaney. I also think Mitch is involved. From the GOP perspective, if they create chaos, they can take advantage of short memories to push through changes in law that would remove the gov’t’s obligation to provide subsidies, and then push through something along the lines of Graham-Cassidy to block grant everything. They would point to the law being broken and say it was broken from the beginning. A more slick GOP would be able to make that sale (say with Pence at the head). Can’t do it with Trump.

I also think that these changes may push red states to accept medicaid expansion. Rates are going up more sharply in these states because they all have to be covered by insurance and more ppl need to be covered in the subsidized portion of the private market. The rates for the unsubsidized individual market folks are going to be higher across the board. At minimum, as we approach 2018, the reinsurance models in MN may have a better chance of making it into federal legislation. Ultimately, though, in the purple and red states, 2018 is going to be about health care. People need to vote Democratic to protect health care, check Trump, and provide accountability to Trump because he and the GOP are bat shit crazy viper snakes who will take your money and eat you. We should be able to win that kind of campaign.
