Discussion: Clinton: 'I Would Have Won' But For Comey, Russia, Voter Suppression

Very good point that many people raise but few seem to have an answer for. I’m one of them. We’re not getting rid of the EC anytime soon. OK, got it. So far, a Dem candidate has lost the EC but won the popular vote twice in the 21st C. Demographics are changing what were swing states. How can Dems effectively deal with that?

Clinton is in complete denial, as are most of her supporters. She lost because she comes across as plastic, treated working class whites and blacks like crap, and couldn’t come to grips with how to handle the email server issue. Trump and the Russians aside, any decent Republican candidate could have beaten her, and unlike Trump, would have gotten the help of a lot of “middle of the road” newspaper editorial boards that were anxious to support a Republican. Obama had done his job: the mainstream of the capitalist class now wanted back in the White House and control of Congress. Take a close look at the 2014 elections.

During the primaries, I called the last election “The Revenge of the White Male.” And what led me to that assessment was not the Republican primary. Republicans are always misogynistic ballbags.

Today I listened to Hillary’s entire speech to graduates at Wellesley. It was bright, thoughtful, funny, and focused on the graduates like all graduation speeches should be. So different than trump’s totally unpresidential whining and complaining at the Coast Guard Academy.

I can’t technically disagree with you: But really, “Comey AND the Russians aside” just like that?! Both mighty easy for you to say!!

nonsense… it is why the FIBS are investigating trump. drill him and the russkis until the cows come home.

It’s not Clinton that was robbed—WE were robbed. I’d like to think that is her point.

American Exceptionalism ca. 2016:

It’s easier for a racist, sexist, Muslim-hating, Jew-baiting, fake-Christian, wife-beating, serial-divorced, tax-dodging, small-business-swindling, popular-vote-losing, carnival-barking, unapologetic sex offender and traitorous Kremlin mole – with seven bankruptcies, the immaturity of a toddler, and the IQ of a chipmunk – to be elected President…than for a woman.*

*Coincidentally, the most-qualified candidate (of any gender) in history.

In the immortal words of George W. Bush, “That was some weird shit.”

Dude. She won by three million votes. And don’t you forget it. She “lost”, as you put it, because of a quirk of our electoral process that weighs rural votes heavier than urban/suburban votes.

Also, you might want to remember that Dems have won the popular vote in FIVE OF THE LAST SEVEN ELECTIONS! But were only allowed to assume the white house in FOUR of those.

If the same thing had happened to the Republicans, they would’ve screamed bloody murder and made an effort (and probably a successful one) to do away with the Electoral College.

Dems, though, are a buncha goddamned weenies and seem to willingly accept the shit sandwich of our electoral process.

I say fuck that fucking shit.

There are 65 million Americans (probably more) who respect Clinton’s views and hang on her views. I see one like to your comment.
Ponder. Introspect. In the meantime, maybe STFU?
@georgeh Same goes for you.

She’s being told by the lowest journalist sh*theads to “go away.” (Cilizza, Thrush, Haberman, etc) These journalists have a lot to fear as the GOP becomes even more emboldened to attack them.

By all rights, she is the leader of the Dem Party. The moment that Gianforte won, the first thing I thought was " NOW, can we PLEASE get rid of the elderly Socialist who thinks he can do his “White whisperer” magic? So far, the Berniacs can only claim one victory and that’s Pellegrino out on Long Island.

One victory. While some people are listening to him, no one is taking him seriously to the point of taking his advice in candidates.

So, WHY is anyone giving him air time? He’s a damn loser but somehow this elderly White man has sage advice - that isn’t working. But the successful woman needs to go away.

Yes, and:

Maybe if you hadn’t done State Department and Government business on your own private email server…

Maybe if you did not run the Clinton Foundation like a pay-for-play scheme…

Maybe if you spent more time, money, and attention in battleground states instead of blue states…

Maybe if actually had a reason for running for President other than thinking you were entitled to it…

Thank you for your service, now please go away, Hillary.

Making things up is so 20th century, Tom Friedman-ish. In the modern world, we analyze and use facts.

I think we’re on the same page here. I hope they screw Donnie (and anyone who remotely abetted him) into the ground so hard he shatters. Let the FIB’s move full steam ahead, I’m talking about how to move ahead for the next elections.
