As disgusting and criminal as the specifics are (Sessions is a lying, corrupt load of scat), whatâs playing out before our eyes is the proof that power elites are virtually untouchable anymore. Nixon went down like a $10 hooker; at the hands of a very effective, bi-partisan Watergate committee. Thatâs about the last time a big fish flopped on the deck; a few Reaganites bit the dust, but the trend is getting ridiculously clear; elites can commit serious crimes and just shrug it off. Kushner is still âamendingâ his outrageously incomplete security affidavit (?) and every time we turn around another Trump associate is fleeing the ship. But Trump and Sessions are brazenly lying and getting away with itâŚso far, I guess. If government wants to restore any degree of faith in itself, itâll go after these crooks and liars with all the tools available to it. Not holding my breath.
